Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how LeapSheet ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and handles information when you use LeapSheet and LeapSheet Compatible (collectively, "the Software") and leapsheet.com ("the Website").

We believe in collecting only what is strictly necessary. We do not collect usage data, workbook contents, sheet names, or any other information about how you use Excel. The only data we collect is what is required to operate the licensing system.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information solely for the purpose of managing your license:

• Email address. Provided at purchase. Used to deliver your license key and send account-related notifications (such as email change confirmations).
• Machine identifier. A unique identifier that identifies your machine to LeapSheet. This identifier cannot be used to identify you personally or to identify your machine beyond the scope of the LeapSheet app.
• License usage data. The dates on which you use the Software during the trial period. Used solely to determine trial status. Not linked to any personal identifier beyond your machine identifier.
• Worksheet count survey response. A one-time answer to the question "How many worksheets does your largest regular workbook have?" Voluntarily provided. Used for product research only. No workbook contents are ever collected.

For corporate accounts, we additionally collect:

• Company administrator name (voluntarily provided).
• Employee names and email addresses, as entered by the administrator for seat assignment purposes.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, access, or transmit:

• The contents of your workbooks or worksheets.
• Sheet names, formula data, or any other Excel content.
• Browsing history or behavior on the Website beyond standard server logs.
• Any data from your computer beyond what is described above.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect exclusively to:

• Deliver and manage your license.
• Enforce license terms (machine limits, trial duration).
• Send transactional emails related to your account (license key delivery, email change notifications, and similar).
• Respond to support inquiries you initiate.
• Analyze aggregate, anonymous worksheet count survey data for product research.

We do not use your information for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any purpose unrelated to operating the Software and its licensing system.

4. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services for database hosting, email delivery, payment processing, and infrastructure. These services may change over time. Each third-party provider is subject to its own privacy policy, and we share only the minimum information necessary for each service to function.

We do not sell your data to any third party.

5. Data Retention

We retain your license record for as long as your license is active. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal information from our records, subject to any legal obligations that may require us to retain certain data.

Trial usage data (machine hash and use-day records) is retained for the purpose of enforcing the re-trial policy (one re-trial per machine after 365 days from trial expiration). This data contains no personally identifiable information.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) for all data transmission and row-level access controls on our database. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children

LeapSheet is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Software after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
